Under the frame of the EU funded project “Socio-economic promotion of Lebanese women in rual areas, through the development of Tourism, Hospitality Services and network of micro-businesses”, PRODES carried out an activity with several micro-finance institutions. It consists of regrouping 5 main micro-credits institutions during 3 working sessions. The main objective of this action is to encourage women entrepreneur by offering an adequate micro-finance product and affordable credit facilities, specially that the rural entrepreneurs has some fears towards getting any loan, due to the instability of the socio-economic and political situations in Lebanon.

During the first meeting, PRODES exposed and discussed the results of a survey done with 150 rural entrepreneur women. These field work results will show their fears, needs and suggestions regarding the micro-credits offer.

The two other meetings consisted of elaborating the best financial proposal a women can get from these institutions, taking into consideration their social and economic working conditions.

The main tangible result was the elaboration of a “Plaquette” regrouping the best proposals designed by these institutions. This plaquette is included inside the WIRLA Net-guide that will be published in May 2015, and will be distributed all around Lebanon, beside the local authorities, Ngo’s, clubs, associations, ministries, etc.
