W.I.R.L.A. – Women In Rural Lebanese Areas
In order to foster collaboration between the women of the different villages, IMS launched WIRLA Network: “Women In Rural Lebanese Areas”, a network that empowers rural women and enables the exchange of experiences and interaction between the villages. WIRLA network is being expanded day after day, and women are participating in several activities, training programs, exhibitions and events.
Today, WIRLA has a network of 400 women from more than 60 different villages from 4 regions of Lebanon. This enables them to exchange experiences, enlarge the commercialization of their products and strengthen their role in their communities.
IMS launched “WIRLA Netguide”, a special communication tool dedicated for rural women where they can find useful contacts, new marketing opportunities, law and regulations for effective networking systems, annual events organized in each locality and many other subjects. This tool is unique since it was conceived in a simple useful way to be easily used by women and the different stakeholders, building bridges and links between them.
